Alice was just beginning to think to herself, `Now, what am I to do with this creature when I get it home?' when it grunted again, so violently, that she looked down into its face in some alarm. This time there could be NO mistake about it: it was neither more nor less than a pig, and she felt that it would be quite absurd for her to carry it further.
Designers Yvonne Fehling and Jennie Peiz formed a design studio and brand named Kraud in 2006. Earlier this year they presented this art/design piece entitled 'Still Lives'
They say that they are "confounding, adorable," and that,"they deliberately defy definition."
We say that they are clearly footstools and we need one here RIGHT NOW!
It strikes us that it might be nice to share a couple of Alice in Wonderland inspired music videos. We assume that you have already seen Avril Lavingne's Alice (Underground) from the soundtrack to Tim Burton's movie, but it's just possible that you missed Gwen Stefani's 2004 hit, What You Waiting For, the video for which is a luscious tribute to Alice's adventures.
And we imagine that there's a quite good chance that you've never seen Don't Come Around Here No More by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, made during that golden age of music video, the nineteen-eighties.
Yesterday we did some window shopping at the incredible MacKenzie-Childs for some furnishings for our Wonderland House. Today we revisited them to drool over the ceramic and enamel ware (and some other stuff.)
Every time we think we've finished looking, we discover something else. There is much, much more we'd love to show you, but there's only a limited amount of bandwidth in the world after all.
